Esther Visser

The camp is led by Esther Visser, founder of Swim in Balance. She is a professional violinist, certified Alexander Technique teacher, swimmer, and PhD researcher. She will coach you together with some other teachers who were trained by her. Esther will teach the Alexander Technique sessions in the afternoon, and individual sessions with her are available.

For over 10 years, Esther has run an Alexander Technique practice in the Netherlands, ‘Move in Balance’, and she is regularly invited to give workshops and masterclasses internationally. Her swim school, ‘Swim in Balance’ offers swim courses at 5 locations in the Netherlands year-round. Swim in Balance has been successfully organizing swim camps at this hotel in Croatia for over 20 times since 2017.

    Participants should book their flights to Pula Airport (PUY), which is the closest airport to Medulin, Croatia. Alternatively, you can fly into Rijeka Airport (RJK) or Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and take a shuttle. Please note that international and domestic airfare, as well as airport transfers to and from our host hotel, are not included in the package price.

    We recommend bringing your standard swim gear (goggles, swim caps, and training suits) along with appropriate athletic attire for the morning yoga sessions. If you prefer using a wetsuit for open-water swim training in the Adriatic Sea, please bring your own as gear rental is optional. Additionally, for your personal safety, all participants are highly encouraged to secure comprehensive travel insurance and sports injury coverage prior to departure.
